The Manufacturing Division of Bradford Area High School
Bradford Area School District, Bradford Area High School, and the North West Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC), were awarded funding through the Manufacturing Training to Career grant program, approved by Gov. Tom Wolf, to support a new manufacturing collaborative initiative at Bradford Area High School.
Founded in 2022, Parkway Industrial started as little more than an idea and some high school machine shop equipment. Since that time, this student-run program has been growing and providing local manufacturers with design and machine shop services. The program provides value to customers' business operations by providing parts and services with a focus on cost-effective high-quality manufacturing. With world-class design software and the mills and lathes needed to create precision components, Parkway Industrial is capable of producing just about anything you might need to help your business succeed. “The Bradford Area High School's student led enterprise project allowed students to independently navigate the entire process of designing, quoting, manufacturing, and selling indispensable parts to American Refining Group (ARG) through Interstate Parkway LLC, the students’ newly-formed company. Career Club is a club at School Street Elementary School for students ages 3rd grade through fifth grade. Career Club is a part of School Street’s Leader In Me program that involves all of the School Street students, in a club of their choice, in helping students build life skills. Career Club is specifically designed to connect students with local business and industry with interactive field trip tours and fun activities surrounding entrepreneurship.
Career Club saw tremendous response and increase in signups. Career Club has grown to be among the most desirable options of all of the clubs. Even though each club is supposed to be held to roughly 20 students, Career Club received 50 signups this school year and membership was expanded to 30 students.
